Web platform / Loyalty and referral software
B2B web portal for referral, loyalty and promotion programsWeb product design, development and post-launch maintenance
A web platform for aesthetic practice loyalty and referral programs
Lemod set out to help aesthetic practices build client loyalty through referrals and rewards. The idea connected cosmetic clinics, practice ambassadors, staff and clients through referral and loyalty marketing, and it needed a web portal that each practice could run on its own.
A self-service portal in which every practice can create and manage referral points, loyalty rewards, offers, announcements and promotion events, with different access levels for different roles, subscription billing and an API that mobile apps could build on.

The product need
What had to become possible
A self-service portal in which every practice can create and manage referral points, loyalty rewards, offers, announcements and promotion events, with different access levels for different roles, subscription billing and an API that mobile apps could build on.
Ownership, made clear
Where the work started and what Indeema owned
Starting system
A product concept, not a platform
The customer arrived with the product idea and the business model for practice loyalty and referral marketing. The web portal, its rules engine and its back end had to be designed and built.
Several user groups
The portal had to serve clinic owners and personnel, practice ambassadors and the clients who receive offers and rewards, each with a different view of the same data.
Indeema owned
UX/UI design
Design a portal in which program settings are self-evident, so a practice can configure campaigns without training.
Front-end and back-end development
Build the Angular web application and the Node.js/Express back end with MongoDB storage and Strapi-managed content.
Rewards and referral logic
Implement automatic calculation of referral rewards and loyalty points, including expiry dates and differences between member statuses.
Roles, billing and API
Set up per-role permissions and content display, connect subscriptions to Stripe and provide an API for building mobile apps on top of the platform.
Maintenance
Support the platform after the MVP launch, which took place in February 2019.
Worked with
Stripe
Practice subscriptions are connected to the Stripe payment system.
Mobile app API
A documented API exposes platform functions to mobile applications built on top of the portal.
Product constraints
What made the engineering difficult
- 01
Rules that change with time and status
Referral rewards and loyalty points had to be calculated automatically while honoring expiry dates and different member statuses.
- 02
One portal, many roles
Owners, personnel, ambassadors and clients needed different permissions and different content, while each clinic's internal information stayed private to that clinic.
- 03
Configuration without a manual
Practice staff are not software specialists, so every campaign and reward setting had to be understandable from the interface itself.
- 04
Practice-specific presence
Each clinic needed to present its own brand within a shared multi-tenant portal.
Engineering judgement
Decisions that shaped the product
Make reward rules a platform function
Point accrual, expiry and status rules run automatically in the back end instead of being tracked by practice staff.
Permission-driven content display
Portal content and actions are shown according to each user role, which keeps one code base serving every user group.
Separate API for mobile clients
An easy-to-follow API was defined so mobile apps could reuse platform logic rather than duplicate it.
Per-clinic branding through design settings
Clinics distinguish their presence with design adjustments inside the portal rather than separate deployments.
HIPAA-compliant architecture with EHR integration
Clinic and user data are encrypted, and the platform was built to HIPAA requirements and integrated with EHR systems so medical information stays protected and available to practice staff.
Delivered product capability
What the product can do
- 01
Referral and loyalty programs
Practices create, manage and adjust referral points, loyalty rewards and promotions.
- 02
Offers and announcements
Practices publish exclusive offers, announcements and promotion events to their clients.
- 03
Engagement dashboard
A dashboard shows engagement statistics so clinics can review how their campaigns perform.
- 04
Role-based access
Distinct permissions and views for each user role, with clinic-internal information kept private.
- 05
Subscription billing
Practice subscriptions are handled through Stripe.
- 06
Clinic branding
Design adjustments let each practice present its own identity within the portal.
Product change
What changed for the product team
Lemod moved from a product idea to a working multi-role web platform. It launched as an MVP in February 2019, and practices could then run their own referral, loyalty and promotion programs from one self-service portal.
For a team building B2B SaaS with several user roles, rule-based rewards and subscription billing, the case shows how permissions, automated point logic, payments and a mobile-ready API can be designed into one web product.
- Delivered a multi-role web portal for creating and managing referral, loyalty and promotion programs.
- The platform's MVP launched in February 2019 and was followed by ongoing maintenance.
